Art & Life

Okay wow, I haven't posted in the longest time. Longest lapse between posts to date. Life has gotten in the way of my regular art proceedings.

I finished my residency in May this year, then I went away to Oregon in June for a brewing microbiology course, then tragedy struck my family in July when I lost my father... still working it out emotionally and helping my mother cope and adjust.

I may start a new blog, as this blog has twisted and turned with the movement of my course in life and my humble wanderings and meanderings. Or I'll just keep it for continuity, as life is art.

I'm not a huge social media person, but I have moments where I see things I want to share. Perhaps I will start using this blog as that forum.

Today, on this beautiful sunny afternoon, after staying the night with my mother and then biking across town to get home, instead of being elated at the freedom of the day, I have decided to catch up on research chores for my mother and for work. Every day a new adventure in teaching myself engineering. Today's special topic:

Who needs real butterflies when you got butterfly valves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday??

Adventures in 3D-printing!

Did I ever mention how much I LOVE tardigrades? 3D-printed these babies a little while ago. BOOOOOOOM.

THE SUN

Y'know, when you just work all the time and you can't wait to have down time to recharge, but then you wonder the meaning of your life because you realize the majority of it is spent working, and not really enjoying it.

Change takes time. And I am working towards that change. In the meantime, I will continue to refuse to let feelings of hopelessness suffocate my mind. In those times in my life in which I have drifted too far into the dark side, I have routinely sought to find answers in cards. I got my tarot reading done the other night and am clinging to hope with THE SUN.

Residency for Artists on Hiatus

Got accepted into a cool new residency! I saw the call for applications earlier this year, and was intrigued by their mandate. It was screaming out at me. The official announcement of the successfull participants for the 2016/2017 residency was made this past Monday.

Toronto Life Magazine

Don't wanna get into overkill mode here, but... nice little mention by Toronto Life Magazine via Pinkerton's Snack Bar.  Thanks!
